Meeting the Chariot

[Liz has had an irritating few days, her husband has been reduced to a drone and probably forever, and she still was feeling a bit odd from the milk, food just didn't seem appetizing.]

Action: 1128 Taylor

[There is a letter with Liz's name on it which she stuffs into her purse then goes about pruning the bushes, singing something that sounds pretty, but also horrible to anyone who can use magic. Horrible in the whole madness from lost souls way.]

Action: Park

[Liz has decided to open her letter, a single tarot card there bearing the chariot. As she does so a booming voice can be heard saying "I am thou... Thou art I... I come from the storm of the soul bearing thunder from the Chariot!" and a large hammer bearing Norse man appears before vanishing into her]

A deck of cards that serves the same purpose as your culture's runes...

[identity profile] putmeinstitches.livejournal.com 2011-09-15 11:02 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh, I see.

That's not such a bad idea. They'd be lighter, easier to carry around...not quite so durable, but easier than carving for sure.

[identity profile] elevatoravatar.livejournal.com 2011-09-15 11:29 pm (UTC)(link)
It is simply another culture's view of it. But it is what I learned.

[identity profile] putmeinstitches.livejournal.com 2011-09-16 05:11 pm (UTC)(link)
[So. Contracts with gods bind some of the god's power to paper runes, allowing the one who held the rune to use it. Interesting.

An idea strikes him.
]

Say...it wouldn't be possible to lend me that power, would it?

[identity profile] elevatoravatar.livejournal.com 2011-09-16 05:30 pm (UTC)(link)
No... Once the pact has been made the power is only shared between the souls of the pact maker and the power loaner.

The cards themselves are little more than an accessory then. They only matter while the pact is being forged.

[identity profile] putmeinstitches.livejournal.com 2011-09-19 02:44 am (UTC)(link)
Curses. Ah, well, it's still delightful.

[identity profile] elevatoravatar.livejournal.com 2011-09-19 11:16 am (UTC)(link)
May I perhaps have your name?

[She peers at him and tilts her head a bit]

[identity profile] putmeinstitches.livejournal.com 2011-09-19 06:13 pm (UTC)(link)
You mean you don't know me? You know Thor, but not his old friend? You wound me, miss.

[identity profile] elevatoravatar.livejournal.com 2011-09-19 06:29 pm (UTC)(link)
No, I sensed the power, however, it is rude to assume. I myself am not a champion of your arcana so I was not able to make the proper pact as I was with the Thunderer and I find it rude to just give name without allowing one to introduce one self as they see fit.

[identity profile] putmeinstitches.livejournal.com 2011-09-19 06:45 pm (UTC)(link)
I see. Well, I'd best get it out of the way, then. I am Loki, son of Laufey, god of chaos, lies and diversions, and I am very pleased to meet you.

[A sweeping bow.]

[identity profile] elevatoravatar.livejournal.com 2011-09-19 06:48 pm (UTC)(link)
One of the most powerful of the fool arcana... I believe that I know one who has it within them to call for your power but I myself do not have the grasp of chaos to tame that....

[identity profile] putmeinstitches.livejournal.com 2011-09-20 12:17 am (UTC)(link)
[He liked where that was going up until you mentioned the name of his arcana. His face falls, and he gives her a sideways look.]

"Fool" arcana? I must have misheard you.

[identity profile] elevatoravatar.livejournal.com 2011-09-20 10:12 am (UTC)(link)
The Fool is the most important of the arcana... It represents in its positive light, the clever mind that explores a unknown universe and bends it to his will. It is the only card that truly represents one's self as opposed to the influences of the world around them. The fool may appear to be harmless, but is wily and clever, one who challenges the road ahead with nothing more than what one has internally.

[identity profile] putmeinstitches.livejournal.com 2011-09-22 09:50 pm (UTC)(link)
[Well done, Liz, Loki's ego has been soothed. He's visibly pleased, and curious rather than demanding.]

Then why do they call it the fool's arcana?

[identity profile] elevatoravatar.livejournal.com 2011-09-22 09:59 pm (UTC)(link)
Because the Fool is leaving what is safe for a journey and many people find adventure foolish.

[identity profile] putmeinstitches.livejournal.com 2011-09-23 12:36 am (UTC)(link)
And those are the people who will die straw deaths, achieving nothing.

[He laughs.]

It's so strange talking to you. It feels like I'm talking to him. I didn't think anyone could duplicate the way Thor fills up a space, but you've managed it.

You'd best tell me your real name, or else I'll slip up and start calling you by his.

[identity profile] elevatoravatar.livejournal.com 2011-09-23 09:56 am (UTC)(link)
I am Elizabeth.

[She bows]

And as I have said, I am wearing his persona right now... If it makes you feel more comfortable I can wear another, but ultimately I am still myself no matter who's power I wear.

[identity profile] putmeinstitches.livejournal.com 2011-09-23 05:05 pm (UTC)(link)
[He waves a hand.]

No, no, I like it. You're a good look for him.

[identity profile] elevatoravatar.livejournal.com 2011-09-23 05:59 pm (UTC)(link)
Well... If you insist... Though, I do believe I lack the proper furs and loud voice. My aptitude for bellowing is quite sub par...

[identity profile] elevatoravatar.livejournal.com 2011-09-25 11:13 am (UTC)(link)
Honestly, I prefer to stick to blues and purples... Something more regal in them than tromping around in a fur, though seeing others in them can be quite stimulating.

[identity profile] putmeinstitches.livejournal.com 2011-09-25 05:50 pm (UTC)(link)
What about a bellow? Could you manage a bellow for me?

[identity profile] elevatoravatar.livejournal.com 2011-09-25 05:58 pm (UTC)(link)
No... Not a convincing bellow. I find that in the time it takes to shout in rage I could have used my power to cripple that which has enraged me so... And once it has been crippled... Well, one does not need to be so uncivil as to bellow when playing with that which has annoyed you.

[identity profile] putmeinstitches.livejournal.com 2011-09-25 06:42 pm (UTC)(link)
[Well. She's certainly confident, and not a little sadistic. Loki's intrigued.]

Will you give it a try? Reach inside yourself. Connect with your inner thunder god. Come on.
