The Fool awakens

[Morning]

Out in the forest you may see a pale girl in blue with golden eyes with her journal tucked under her arm singing to the birds as she watches the clouds. The song is an odd one, animals like it, people will find it a bit unsettling, magic users will find it oddly terrifying. After a while she'll stop and look up at the sky.

"Hrm, this realm, I wonder if it is a dream, and if so who's for I never dreamed of being an angel myself."

[Afternoon]

Elizabeth wanders into town and sits in the center watching the people go by with a curious expression, sitting there staring into her book.

"This tome seems like the one I am missing, yet I see nothing about those many masks that were there. I wonder if this is what it is to be a guest, I wonder if my master will deal with me next. Hrm.... I wonder what it is that is cooking off in the distance?"

She sniffs a bit and peers around, seeming to ponder those things.

[The mix blood dragon had been out on a hunt this day like most every day. She may have the limbs of a human, but her instincts and upbringing were all animal as the sound of music hits her ears.

She has been weary of humans and other residents of Luceti lately, but there's something about the music she finds pleasant. Quietly she'll work her way towards where the sound is coming from.

Xzana is an adult, with short, shaggy hair. Her limbs along with her eyes, ears, mouth, and nose are much longer than what a human should have. Not to mention her fingers are not really fingers at all, more like claws and covered all over in patches of blue scales.

She settles her larger set of white wings against her back to listen to the song. Dressed only in the white feather dress she had been dressed in months ago she has no intention of interrupting the song.]

Elizabeth continues sitting there, finishing her song and stretching a bit. Letting out a breath she peers over at the newcomer and tilts her head.

"Are you the dreamer of this dream I have stumbled upon?"

I am no dreamer. I am Xzana. The daughter of pure changeling dragon Boann.

"I see. I am Elizabeth, of the Velvet Room. And if this is not your dream, and it is not mine, I wonder why the dreamer makes all in the dream angels."

I do not understand what you speak of. This land is called Luceti and it is not a dream.

"I see, so a realm that was not my intended target. And alas my cards are missing still, it seems that it is inhabited. This place seems very different from the world of man, is it the world of dragons?"

There are other dragons here besides myself, but it is not our own world. There are humans as well as gods and other creatures I have never before seen in my home world.

It is an odd land this place.

"I see. Is it a prison?"

She blinks, the light reflecting off her eyes in an odd way.

[elongatedsmile]

[The light reflection is tucked away in her memory to possibly be called back again later. Instead she focuses on the question that was asked.]

Yes, I suppose it is a prison. We cannot leave past the bubble that surrounds this place.

"Fascinating, that a journey should end at the beginning. Still given the journey it makes sense."

I am afraid I do not understand what you mean.

"I left on a quest to defeat the urge within man to end its own existence. A terrible beast that was sealed in a prison crafted of the soul of one man. Truthfully it is that soul I seek to rescue but the beast claws at its restraints and I know of no other way. Alas humans are so.... Difficult... To understand."

Yes, they are often most difficult to understand at times. Yet, I have never known them to want to destroy their own existence.

"Where I come from their urge for self destruction birthed a terrible monster. Sadly one that can not be stopped completely till the urge that created it dies."

Hm, self destruction. [She shakes her head.] I do not understand. It seems the very thing against life to end one's life.

"Indeed, it seems wrong to me as well, but perhaps understanding is what gives someone the urge."

[elongatedsmile]

Then perhaps it is better for us not to know.

"Perhaps. Still, hunting something you know nothing about is not a simple task."

I suppose it is hard to hunt a creature when you do not know it's habits.

"Indeed. Though slaying it is simple enough it does become very tiresome to see it get up a year later and try again."

Get up? No. When you slay a creature it is dead and does not rise again.

"I've have killed it twice now. It is brought to life by emotions and there are so many that lead to destruction..."

I have not before heard of a creature that lives on emotions. If it can not die while there are emotions then it seems as if it would live forever!

"The sea of the soul is an odd place indeed."

Hmm. I have trouble picturing it. [A never ending life. Dragons live for a long, long time. Yet, they too eventually died. To be unable to die. It seemed impossible.]

"Virtually every dream exists somewhere."

But that existence is usually within each of our own minds.

"But there is also the shared consciousness of all living things."

[elongatedsmile]

Is there? You mean, those who can read the minds of others?

"More like the worlds created for the masses that are believed in. Celestial realms that can not be found, heroes who exist only in dreams. Virtually every idea thought of by sentient beings exists somewhere."

So as I think of fish right now, that is what is creating the fish in the river? [Xzana tends to think in the now and here. This kind of talk sails right over her understanding by several miles.]

"Perhaps in the sea of the soul, but not here, not in the realm of mortals."

[elongatedsmile]

I do not understand then. [But she's hungry now.] I have only before heard of the land of the living and that of the dead. Of course, I had not heard of Luceti before my awakening here. This place seems to be somewhere between those two worlds. [Or at least as she has come to understand it.]

"There are.... Many worlds where I come from. The land of mortals, the sea of the soul, the domains of the gods, the Tartarus, my master's domain. Perhaps having seen so many my view is.... Hard to grasp, because in many cases understanding takes seeing."

I will agree to that. Had I been told of Luceti while I lived only in my homeland I am not sure that I could have believed it. [Granted, it also matter a lot WHO told her things like that back home if she would believe or not.]

"Indeed. Is there a place where people congregate around here, or is simply hiding in the woods?"

There is a village if you keep walking in that direction. [She raises one of her claws to point towards the village.] That is where the humans stay.

"Do they keep non humans out?"

No, I even stayed there for some time during the time of cold and snow.

"Hrm, perhaps I will have to explore then. At least to see if Erebus lurks among them."

[elongatedsmile]

I do not know of anyone of that name, but they may still be in the village. [Considering she doesn't usually bother remembering most names.]

"A great two headed monster made of blackness. If you should come across it I would advise leaving."

Fear not. I would not need your advise to know to stay away should I come across a creature such as that.

"It also has the most irritating habit of not staying dead."

She pouts a bit at that.

Yes, you have said that. Although, I must admit. I still find something to exist such as that, hard to believe.

She blinks as her persona Thanatos separates from her and hovers behind her.

"Until recently my dear new persona was allied with the beast. Luckily, we both decided the monster was.... A jerk."

A jerk. [Not a word she hears much really. She's more concerned at the moment anyway at the strange Thanatos that has suddenly appeared. She says no more, eying it and trying to figure out it's motives.]
