The Tower crossing a Reversed Queen of Swords

[Action 1] On random streets

[Elizabeth has just found Minato's body, she's moving kind of erratically, her face is pale (ok, its always pale) but her eyes are no longer dancing.  If you speak magic, she's saying a doozy in Lost Carcosan, if you don't speak magic those words would unnerve just about anyone.  Odds are she's not paying attention to you, but if you move towards her, she'll fluidly have a knife pulled and glare at you not looking quite right.]

[Action 2] 948 Beulah St!

[Elizabeth has just sat down on the stairs of a random house, she's not really paying attention, the knife is sitting at her side, she's stopped muttering in that horrible language, but she's muttering about a cell phone to call herself with.]

Humanity is not doomed as long as one of us lives to defy Old night. Do not give in to despair. [He will cross closer at this point, risking the knife.]

[She is fast with tossing that knife, and pulling another from her purse as she takes a step back]

"No! NYX WILL BE FREE! FREE TO FEAST ON THE SOULS OF ALL MANKIND! ALL BECAUSE ONE WAS TOO WEAK TO RESIST THE LIES OF THIS PLACE!"

[Her eyes dart around]

"Joker... Joker is the only answer left."

[He shifts, the knife burying itself in his shoulder.]

Nngh. No. Just endure. Please, Elizabeth. Don't fall to the chaos and madness of this place as so many have. So many friends, so many foes.

[His voice cracks a bit.]

[She smiles, then starts laughing, a not happy laugh]

"It invokes the will of the great old ones... The seal is gone, all hope is lost..."

[he touches his chest.] I'm here! You're here! There are others as well unstained by the murder-plague in this town.

Don't fall back on sorcery when human will is enough. Don't do this, Elizabeth.

"But one human is not enough. Only the one who befriended the herald of Nyx can act as the seal."

They'll return. They all will. Know this to be true. I've been slain three times now. THe town likes keeping the playthings alive.

[he sighs.] Would that I could go to my brothers but...

Whoever the seal was, given time they will return, if they were not sent home.

Are you telling me I'm going to leave, or saying that I will? If you need me to stand by you just say so.

[he frowns.] That is not so, there is always meaning in what we do. Don't give in to despair, that was how Aximand fell.

I think I understand.

[He pauses.] But do you know your quarry? Who are you taking vengeance for? There's a difference between vengeance and justice, as well. The first is a dark thing that leads to a path i've seen my brothers tread, justice is cold, clear, and has an end to it.

We can't build anything from vengeance, it undermines the very foundations of the world, but justice props them up.

"The question is immaterial. The Emperor will not be slain...
and anyone who dies here will rise again, eventually, I think. The rules of the town haven't changed so much to avoid that cycle."

[He pauses.]

Why do you call me knight in grey, anyway?

Such things are not unheard of in this town. We must wait out the duration of this town's blood-game and we will be alright. Did you neat hear the story from the longest sojourner here?

I speak only the truth as I understand it. To do otherwise would be dishonorable. Why... don't we just sit down? Rest your mind a bit. Try to reason things out. A decision made only with emotion will often harm you in the end.
