A Fool and the World; Video

Elizabeth had been watching the identity crises that had been happening for the week and firstly, she was not suffering through one being spared the fake identity, secondly her own identity was something she was still figuring out so it all seemed odd to her. Still many people were upset, so she had given it some time before posing her question.

"People of this place, I admit that being spared some of the more odd parts of living the lie that was pushed on us a few weeks ago I am uncertain how to ask this but I shall try."

She takes a breath and nods.

"What about you is defined by you internally, and what about you is defined by the world around you? Is it all one? Is that why the previous lie was so difficult for many to see, or is there something different, like the fire that was stoked in many by the spirits that ran rampant when I came here? I myself am a bit confused by all of this and would appreciate any help. That and while I no longer have access to the many rewards for assistance from home and can offer little more than appreciation for help, still hope that kindness is a form of currency that has not been erased from this place."

Elizabeth knows him! Sort of. She even got into a brawl with him, maybe not this him, but one of him. Infinity was big and it was hard to pin down specifics.

"I see, so which did you see? The lie, or the world painted by the lie? I'm curious how one who is no longer a fool would react."

[Well that was an interesting way of putting it, but he guessed he should have expected it from someone from that room.]

The lie I saw was close to what I knew. I saw through it, but it took a major event before I could.

"What sort of major event? You did not see the master, did you?"

...I would be worried if Igor ever showed up here.

[If the Velvet Room door showed up, that was okay, but if Igor himself showed up? Outside of the Room and trapped like they were, it would be a serious cause for concern. It would pretty much mean that whomever dragged them there could literally do whatever they wanted with whomever they wanted.]

No, the police almost grabbed me and another man. We were lucky to get out of there.

"He so rarely leaves the room I would be worried as well. Still, I'm not certain I could face him if he did."

She ponders a bit and tilts her head.

"The police, the ones in the lie who were hiding those who awoke to the truth in far away places?"

[...well, that was interesting. He had to wonder what happened between them that she would have trouble facing Igor of all people. He hardly seemed like the kind of guy to get annoyed... well, except for when Margaret started singing that song in front of him.]

[...then again, Margaret did mention it was a song her and her sister came up with. Hm...]

Yeah, them. I had no memory of my powers at the time, and then my Persona just responded. I didn't know what was going on or what to expect.

"Mine were sealed till the end. Its interesting to ponder if you were ever sealed, and the sealing was what protected me."

Sorry, but... are you Margaret's sister?

"I am. I believe we have met before in that competition with the bear."

She nods a little.

"You were my sister's guest then?"

Competition?

[With the bear? That could only be Teddie, but he was pretty sure there hadn't been any competitions going on while they were trying to solve a murder mystery.]

Yeah, I was her guest.

"Yes. At the place known as a High School! I believe you were announced as 'The Sister Complex Kingpin of Steel' in the, ah yes, the P-1 Grand Prix to become the manliest of all men!"

She nods cheerfully.

"Though it turned out to be less interesting than I originally thought. Do you not remember?"

[Whoa. Whoa. Wait a second. What? He totally wasn't a Kingpin okay? They all did their part in the Investigation Team and--]

[...that probably wasn't what he should have been upset about, was it?]

"I see. Then you do not remember showing me how the wild card worked. I know dealing with fluid time is new to me, yet this place seems to have even less of an understanding of it than I do."

[Though now he's interested. He would have thought a Velvet Room attendant would already know how the Wild Card worked.]

"Odd, I distinctly remember you and your friends being involved in a fighting tournament created by the shadow of another artificial girl that was pretending to be a bear."

"Have you at least met the bear that the general stole the face of?"

Unless there's another bear in my future, then yes, I've met Teddie.

"Well according to the shadow that was more than a shadow, the General was a lie, but yes. Definitely a bear."

[Yu was just plain confused at this point, and it didn't help that her manner of speaking was strange. He supposed he'd just have to smile and nod for now; maybe he'd have the opportunity to ask someone what she was talking about later.]

"Time does not move in a line here, does it? Or have I simply met you from before you were the you I met? Time is a thing that I still am getting used to, we did not have it back home, or at least not in the sense you would understand."

I'm not really sure... I haven't been here that long, although I have a friend here that last remembers me from a point in time I just came from, and she's been here for years.

[Time didn't flow in the Velvet Room? Hunh... that made a lot of sense.]
