The Tower crossing a Reversed Queen of Swords

[Action 1] On random streets

[Elizabeth has just found Minato's body, she's moving kind of erratically, her face is pale (ok, its always pale) but her eyes are no longer dancing.  If you speak magic, she's saying a doozy in Lost Carcosan, if you don't speak magic those words would unnerve just about anyone.  Odds are she's not paying attention to you, but if you move towards her, she'll fluidly have a knife pulled and glare at you not looking quite right.]

[Elizabeth has just sat down on the stairs of a random house, she's not really paying attention, the knife is sitting at her side, she's stopped muttering in that horrible language, but she's muttering about a cell phone to call herself with.]

[It's completely by accident that Maya comes across Elizabeth sitting on her doorstep; nearly tripping over her on her way outside. She frowns to herself as she catches the bit about calling herself. That's never good news, in her experience.]

"I need a cellular phone... To invoke something to deal with the loss of persona... Do you have one?"

[Maya shakes her head.]

Not since coming to Mayfield, anyway. Did you say "persona?"

[Huh. That strikes a chord, somehow. And what's with this woman's eyes?]

"Yes... The master said never to invoke it but... Given how Erebus has taken over, the Joker curse couldn't be any worse..."

The Joker curse?! [That's what she was afraid of.] There are definitely other options. People lose themselves to that curse!

Igor? [The name is hauntingly familiar, and not just in an old monster movie sort of way. She shakes her head.]

But this place is different than wherever you come from, even if they were a seal originally, they might not be here! And anyway... [She frowns. She's been avoiding leaving the house the past few days, having heard enough about what's been going on outside.]

Don't people usually come back here? Once they've been injured or killed. It's happened, hasn't it?

[He crosses to her without fear in his craggy visage.]

A cellular phone? The phrase is unfamiliar. I.... think you should get somewhere safe. Will you come with me?

"There is no point. The seal is dead. Humanity is doomed all for someone's inability to tell the town's lies."

Humanity is not doomed as long as one of us lives to defy Old night. Do not give in to despair. [He will cross closer at this point, risking the knife.]

[She is fast with tossing that knife, and pulling another from her purse as she takes a step back]

"No! NYX WILL BE FREE! FREE TO FEAST ON THE SOULS OF ALL MANKIND! ALL BECAUSE ONE WAS TOO WEAK TO RESIST THE LIES OF THIS PLACE!"

[Her eyes dart around]

"Joker... Joker is the only answer left."

[He shifts, the knife burying itself in his shoulder.]

Nngh. No. Just endure. Please, Elizabeth. Don't fall to the chaos and madness of this place as so many have. So many friends, so many foes.

[His voice cracks a bit.]

[ Is that... Elizabeth? ]

[ Souji sees the Velvet Room attendant. He fails to recognize her in her even gloomier state. He also doesn't realize she's staggering and she's also muttering dark, ominous words. With no reservation he runs to her.

Unfortunately Souji does not know that Minato died. Also unfortunately he does not know that Elizabeth will lash out at anyone who approaches her so closely, much like he is. ]

[Her eyes unfocused, there is a knife in her hand before Souji gets within 10 feet]

"...The seal is dead. Humanity is dead."

[ Souji freezes in his tracks. THe visual cue of Elizabeth holding her knife set forth a series of motions all working faster than the man could cognitively process it. In a matter of mere tenths of a second Souji shifted all of his weight to the balls of his feet, his hand was drawing his sword while the other took up a defensive block position as he lowered his body. ]

!?

E-Elizabeth! What are you saying?

"Dead... Minato... The seal... 5 billion condemned to Nyx's embrace. Because they fell for this town's ruse."

"You will bring me a cellular phone."

Minato?

[ Souji's breath was caught in his throat again. Minato died? Of all of the nicest, most genuine people he met in Mayfield, why Minato? He would have dwelled on more, certainly a lot more, when Souji is in the confines of darkness, when he is truly alone. But now... ]

... Hey. Elizabeth.

[ He lowered his hand from the sword and the other in a form shielding his body turned into an outstretched hand. Slowly, cautiously, ever carefully, he took a step forward. ]

"Back. I know not who has fallen to Erebus' will. Until obtain my goal it is wise to remain distant."
